| I had heard about the Rusk CTC Series Line from friends and my hairstylist, so when I was ready to make a purchase, I thought I would check it out myself. I had seen this product in a beauty supply store. After using it for the first time, I knew I had made the right choice. This curling flat iron performed well above my expectations, and so much better than the Chi that I had been using (and purchased for alot more money). The longer titanium plates allowed me to straighten more hair in a pass, cut down on ironing time, and I only had to pass it through each portion of hair once or twice. The process takes only about 5-10 mins, compared to twice that for other, more expensive irons. My thick, coarse, curly hair looks and feels smooth and soft, without that "flatironed" look. I've also been in some fairly humid conditions recently, and my hair stayed nice and straight without puffing or frizzing. |

| In the past, I've used generic straighteners from CVS, Sally's, Wal-Mart, etc. and only once have I splurged a little and purchased the MaxiGlide straightener (from those overly convincing infomercials! Gah). That being said, the Rusk Professional Str8 Iron is by far the best straightener I have ever used. I fall short on having any decent comparisons though (as mentioned above). I am a veeery picky person, and I also have a tendency to read through numerous product reviews and compare prices before making a purchase (believe me on this one), so trust me, this straightener is worth the money! |

| The Rusk flat iron str8 heats up quickly, straightens well (I have minimally wavy, semi-straight hair to begin with, don't know how it works on curly hair), and does not snag. I use the 2nd lowest setting out of 5 (340 degrees)? The only drawback I could find is the fact that it's preeetty easy to burn your hands and fingers on this straightener (because it gets so hot)! So be mindful of where your grip is. Anyway, that's not a deal breaker, considering the great results I get. In comparison to the other straighteners that I've used, I find that the Rusk hair straightener doesn't damage my hair and give it that nasty, coarse, dead-hair look as much, but I would definitely still recommend using some kind of heat-protection spray prior to straightening.
